At a news conference just after the November election, Governor-elect Bob Ferguson declared the President-elect’s proposals “deeply un-American.” The Governor-elect said he was prepared for Trump, and their team has been reviewing the Project 2025 agenda, which he called “an assault on reproductive rights, health care access, environmental protections.” “A message I just really have for Washingtonians is we’re not just waking up yesterday thinking ‘Oh my gosh there’s a new Trump administration coming in,’” Ferguson said. “There has been a lot of work for many, many months from my team to prepare for this.”  He was supported by outgoing Governor Jay Inslee, who declared, “Washington has gone toe-to-toe with Trump before and we’re ready to do it again. Your rights are protected here”
